First Research Committee Meeting – Validation of the Market Research Methodology

On 20 May 2025, the first Research Committee Meeting within the ME – Study in English project was held online via Google Meet. The meeting represented an important step within Work Package 2 – Evidence Base and Monitoring, led by the University of Donja Gorica (UDG), and focused on the discussion, validation and finalisation of the methodology and research instruments for the market research on the attractiveness of English-Medium Instruction (EMI) programmes in Montenegro.

During the meeting, the UDG project team presented the overall research approach, detailed methodology and survey instruments. The proposed research design combined quantitative and qualitative methods, including online surveys, structured interviews, benchmarking activities and analysis of institutional data. The research was designed to assess market demand for EMI programmes, identify the main factors influencing students’ enrolment decisions, benchmark Montenegro against relevant European practices, and support evidence-based development of English-taught programmes.

The Research Committee unanimously approved the proposed methodology and research instruments, confirming that they were scientifically grounded, well structured and aligned with the strategic objectives of the ME – Study in English project. Following the approval, the UDG team proceeded with the implementation of the research and data collection activities.
