Dedicated Presentation of ME – Study in English Research at the 14th UDG Research Day

The ME – Study in English project was presented at the 14th Research Day, National Scientific and Research Conference held on 3 April 2026 at the University of Donja Gorica (UDG). The annual event, organised by the University of Donja Gorica in cooperation with MONSTAT and the DAMAR Institute, provides a platform for presenting current research conducted in Montenegro, discussing research methodologies, and sharing findings and data relevant to the wider academic and research community.

As part of the 2026 programme, a dedicated segment provided an opportunity to present research activities conducted within the ME – Study in English project. Danilo Bulatović and Katarina Šćepanović, PhD candidates and researchers engaged in the project on behalf of UDG, presented the research titled “ME Study in English: Market Research on the Attractiveness of Study Programmes Delivered in English in Montenegro.”

During the session, Bulatović and Šćepanović presented the preliminary results of the market research conducted within Work Package 2 – Evidence Base and Monitoring, led by the University of Donja Gorica. The presentation introduced the audience to the research approach and emerging findings related to the attractiveness and development potential of English-Medium Instruction (EMI) programmes in Montenegro.

The research itself combines quantitative and qualitative approaches and examines the perspectives of different stakeholder groups relevant to the internationalisation of Montenegrin higher education, including prospective and international students, visiting professors, and representatives of international companies. This approach was designed to provide an evidence base for understanding the potential of EMI programmes and identifying areas for their further development.

The presentation at Research Day 2026 represented an important dissemination opportunity for the ME – Study in English project, enabling UDG researchers to share preliminary project results with students, academics, researchers and representatives of relevant institutions, while contributing to a broader discussion on the internationalisation and future development of higher education in Montenegro.
