The University of Zagreb is the flagship educational institution in Croatia with 31 faculties, three art academies and various university centres and departments. As a comprehensive public Central European university, UNIZG offers education programmes in all scientific fields (arts, biomedicine, biotechnology, engineering, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences) and a broad spectrum of courses at all study levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate for more than 62,000 students. The University excels not only in teaching but also in research, contributing over 50% to the annual research output of Croatia. The Faculty of Economics & Business was founded in 1920; hence, it represents the oldest institution of higher education in economics and business in the Republic of Croatia and the broader international context. The Faculty of Economics & Business Zagreb has three international accreditations, EQUIS and AACSB Business accreditation at the institution level, and EFMD Programme Accreditation for the university study program in English Bachelor Degree in Business. Faculty of Economics & Business Zagreb is the only institution in the Republic of Croatia accredited by EQUIS, the world’s most prestigious accreditation and the only holder of three very prestigious international accreditations, which ranks us among the top 1% of faculties in the world, measured by objective international criteria. The faculty provides a professional undergraduate study programme “Business Economics”, which consists of three major areas: “Accounting and Finance”, “Trade Business Operations”, and “Tourism Business Operations”. There are also professional specialist graduate study programmes – “Economics of Entrepreneurship”, “Economics of Energy and Environment”, “Electronic commerce in the private and public sector”, “Digital marketing”, and “Retail management and marketing”. At the university level, it offers two integrated undergraduate and graduate university programmes, “Business Economics” (modules: Accounting and Auditing, Analysis and Business Planning, Finance, Marketing, Management, Management Information Technology, Trade and Tourism) and “Economics”. In addition, the Faculty has developed 33 specialist postgraduate study programmes and provides two doctoral study programs. Besides, it offers undergraduate and graduate study programmes entirely taught in English. The Faculty has the appropriate personnel, scientific, administrative and financial infrastructure to implement this type of international project and will provide full administrative and financial support services: International Office, Accounting and Finance Department, Human Resources Department, IT Department, as well as University Secretary’s Office. The Faculty ensures scientific productivity by providing access to relevant scientific literature, books and articles stored in the FEB Library or available online. The Faculty is also equipped with necessary rooms and electronic equipment. Research team members are willing to share their experience and contribute to the successful management of the project in coordination with Project Partners. They will take care of the professional implementation of project activities and give their highest contribution to realising them.
The UNIZG with its experienced researchers and professors’ team will support the project primarily in the WP2 development of financial model for EMI studies at 2 universities and creation of a Benchmark study on HE national level policies for EMI study programmes, relying on its sound experience in the negotiating, establishment and running of EMI programmes. It will also give strong contribution to the WP3 in building capacities of the UoM and UDG, by providing visiting professors to increase the teaching standard and transfer the knowledge to the Business and Economics programmes in Montenegro. It will provide mobility opportunities for students and university staff and contribute to the creation of a sustainable EMI capacity building programme.
