The first Erasmus + project, in which the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro is the coordinator, began with a kick-off meeting held in the period from March 27 to 28, 2024 at the Faculty of Economics.
The project entitled Promoting the internationalization of higher education institutions in Montenegro through capacity building for study programs in English (ME-Study in English) is a structural project aimed at building capacity in the field of higher education (CBHE).
The goal of the project is to improve the process of internationalization of institutions of higher education in Montenegro, which will ultimately result in an increase in the number of study programs in English, and thus a greater participation of visiting professors from EU universities in the teaching of these programs, as well as an increase in the number of enrolled students. foreign students.
The ME-Study in English project will thus enable a more complete integration of Montenegrin universities into the European area of higher education. The total value of the project is 1.1 million euros, and the project will be implemented over the next 4 years
After the registration of the participants, the dean of the Faculty of Economics, prof. Dr. Mijat Jocović, coordinator of the national Erasmus+ office in Montenegro, Mrs. Vanja Drljević and project coordinator, assistant professor Tamara Backović, PhD, vice dean for international cooperation at the Faculty of Economics.
The meeting was attended by representatives of all partner institutions. On behalf of the project coordinator, the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro, the following were present at the meeting: prof. Dr. Mijat Jocović, assistant professor Tamara Backović, Ph.D., Assoc. Dr. Jovan Đurašković, MSc Magdalena Đurašković, MSc Nemanja Popović, Filip Gregl and MSc Sonja Žarić. On behalf of the University of Donja Gorica, the meeting was attended by prof. Dr. Maja Drakić, prof. Dr. Milica Vukotić, Katarina Šćepanović and Danilo Bulatović. In front of the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education in Montenegro, Milica Kavedžić and Dunja Bojović were present at the meeting, while Zerina Kardović represented the Student Union of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro. On behalf of the representatives of partners from the European Union - the University of the Côte d'Azur in Nice, the meeting was attended by prof. dr Srdja Redžepagić, Maria Hernandez and Dalenda Larifi, while the representatives of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Zagreb were prof. Dr. Kosjenka Dumančić and Prof. Dr. Mladen Turuk.
Project coordinator, Assoc. Tamara Backović, Ph.D., gave an overview of the main objectives of the project implementation, the plan of activities in the first year of the project implementation and an overview of the tasks of the project consortium.
At the meeting, the plan of tasks, goals and planned results within each work package was worked out in detail, and the deadline for the individual results of the activities until the end of the project was indicated.
The participants of the meeting discussed the composition of the Project Supervisory Board, the Project Research Board and the Project Quality Control Board. Managers of individual work packages have been appointed who will organize project activities within their work packages and hire other members of the project team for their implementation.
At the meeting, the proposal for the Partnership Agreement was discussed, and after that, the plan for financial management and reporting on project activities was presented. the launch of the project's official website - www.study-in-english.me - was announced, which will be the main channel for disseminating the activities carried out on the project.
